June 3rd

Getting out and about on my bike..... it is so easy to ride here, there are bike trails everywhere. They even have there own sign posts telling you on intersections where each trail leads to and how far it is.

I went into Perth and rode around Kings Park, it was awesome.

Exploring Perth with Mike and Tash

Sunday 29th May
I met up with Mike, Tash and Mikayla at the Fremantle markets today.
Paul picked us up and took us on a tour of Perth. We went up the coast checking out the beaches along the way.

Then turned inland at Trigg Point and went up into the hills. We went to Mandering Wier, this is a big dam that supplies the water for Kalgoorlie, it is pumped 600km to Kalgoorlie along a pipe. We walked thru the bush looking for the dam, Tash and I are sure Paul was lost but wouldn't admit it. When we got to the bottom of the hill the dam was dry!!! No water..... not sure if I want to go to Kalgoorlie because it looks to me like they are gonna run out of water very soon.

Then we found this awesome little pub up in the hills, so we spent the rest of the afternoon there. In the evening the wild kangaroos came to graze on the lawn. They were right next to where we were sitting, Mikayla thought they were great.

Then it was back into Perth to Mike and Tash's motel to check out their new van. They are gearing up ready to head out on the road tomorrow. They are headed north to Geraldton and then who knows from there.

An awesome day, spent with people from Houhora ...... so many miles from home.

26th May and I have arrived

May 26th
Wow ......what a long flight. I wouldn't want to do that again in a hurry.
The plane arrived early so we had to circle Perth 3 times waiting till we could land. Then when we did get on the ground we sat out on the runway for about 15 mins till we could go to the terminal. Then had to wait at the baggage carousal and NO bags......then an announcment the the cargo doors were jammed!!! They were working on getting them open, so waiting waiting waiting for bags.

May 27th
First day here, went for a walk along the river to blow away the cobwebs, then into town to sort out bank account etc. Checked out Fremantle and went to the markets to get some food.
Still adjusting to Perth time, I hit the wall at about 5.30pm last night and went to bed.

May 28th
Got up with plenty of energy today, went for another walk but have decided to get a secondhand mountain bike to give me some transport, there are so many bike tracks everywhere.
Will also hopefully look at getting a laptop today which will make blogging alot easier.

Countdown........

Only two weeks to go tomorrow.
Starting to get very excited......or is that nervous.
LOL I'm not really sure???
